About The Company:
The Basque Market
Winter blahs getting you down?
It’s so true that we are what we eat. Put the burger down, and step away from the fries. It’s time for a little Ongi Etorri!--- for your tastebuds.
Ongi Etorri!
What---you don’t know what that means? Apparently you haven’t been down to the BBB (the Basque Block in Boise) lately. Well, it’s showing! You need a little Ongi Etorri, my friend! Everyone does!
Ongi Etorri means ‘Welcome’ in Basque, which is how you’re going to feel when you walk into the Basque market, where each and every day they’re doing unbelievable things with food. If you’re looking for a new favorite cultural experience, this is it. From 12-3 do lunch ‘tapas style’ and try their ever-changing selection of bocadillos (mini sandwiches), soups, and salads. Don’t forget to taste the other traditional and non-traditional dishes like croquetas, empanadas, tortilla or stuffed piquillo peppers.
The Basque Market has a deli case filled to the brim with ready-to-go items that you can enjoy at home. Soups, olive tapenade, port-poached figs, rice pudding, and even various Spanish foods hardly found elsewhere like smoked paprika, assorted turrones, bleu cheese or anchovies, not to mention the largest selection of Spanish wines in the Northwest.
See why the Basque Market is famous: they prepare large seafood and meat paellas every Wednesday and Friday right on their very own patio as onlookers hungrily watch, paired perfectly with freshly baked bread. The paella is ready at noon on Wednesdays and Fridays and available until they run out.
Take a big bite into today’s CitySmart deal by clicking the ‘Buy Now!’ button on this one: $5 for $10 worth of food and drink at The Basque Market.
Basque Market Trivia: Established in December of 2000, they’re located on the Basque Block in Downtown Boise, Idaho. Once settled in, they went to work becoming one of the area’s leading and very popular Basque caterers.
Pick It Up. Stuffed Baked Brie in brandied apricot or carmelized pecan. Served with freshly made crostini or baguettes, it’s heaven in every bite. Cheese Pastry Wrapped Mini Chorizos; like old-fashioned pigs in a blanket, only better! Smoked Solomo Platter that holds thin slices of smoked pork loin with roasted red peppers, garlic and olive oil. Are we ready to eat yet?
The Party’s Here. Get the Meat and Cheese Platter: assorted cured Spanish meats and cheeses, great with baguette slices or freshly baked rolls for mini sandwiches. Or try some Banderillas: skewers of imported olives, Manchego cheese and Piquillo peppers OR Mancego cheese, Chorizo Pamplona and imported olives. The perfect combination of flavors and they’re nice to look at, too!
