As a dog mom, when contemplating a dog’s name, I’ve learned that it’s good to try it out with a call to the dog, just to see how it sounds. If ‘Here, Moooooorrrrrk,’ doesn’t sound good in extended form and with some volume added, then the dog’s name probably shouldn’t be Mork.
As children, my sister and I learned this lesson the hard way.
We were well into our ‘fairy tale’ stage when we found a red-haired, stray dog. After trying to no avail to locate the owner, we were told we could keep the gorgeous-colored pet. What to name it?
‘Snow White,’ said my six-year old sister.
‘Sleeping Beauty,’ said the four-year-old me.
She and I finally agreed upon the noble name of ‘Beauty’. What else could you name a dog with shiny red locks? The creature was gorgeous.
Far too late, a parent made the point that ‘Beauty’…was actually a boy. That poor dog’s fate was to live out the rest of his days with my mother calling to him, “Heeeeerrrrre Beaaaaauuuuuutttttty!”
Hence the fact that nowadays, I am extremely careful when choosing a name for a beloved pet. Beauty lived fifteen long years, and with somewhat of a complex. Tough to be the big dog on the block with a name like that.
The best kinds of dog owners do everything to keep their pets comfortable and clean. CitySmart can help you with that with today’s top dog of a deal: $7.50 for a self-serve dog wash at Annie’s Pet Salon & Self Serve dog wash (a $15 value!)
Keep Rover (or whatever you choose to call he or she…make sure you know which is which before you name them…just sayin’) nice and comfy clean by clicking the ‘Buy Now!’ button for a wash with a setup that makes doing doggie washing way, way easier.
What Smells In Here? Essence of Wet Dog. With the upcoming storms, that’s what you’ll be smelling in the near future. I don’t know about you, but it’s not everyone’s favorite aroma. Make the home life better for all involved by stopping in at Annie’s.
A Clean Dog Is A Happy Dog. Know why? Because picky people tend to pet purer dogs. It’s just a fact. When they smell good, they rake in the love just that much more often.
Rover Is No Longer All Over. Or, at least his scent isn’t. Take your poochie to Annie’s and lose the Rover scent that lingers on clothes and in the car. It’s great to have a dog; it’s just not that fun to have your car, home, or clothing smell like one.
